Yes, I’ve been lazy. I’ve been busy. Lately, I have started reading the Odyssey for English (I’ve done a lot of other stuff, so much I can’t remember it all since I last posted. I will start posting regularly now. I swear.). It’s easier to understand than Shakespeare, which is nice.
One interesting thing about it is that certain nouns always have certain adjectives attached to them, such as “grey-eyed Athena (or “daughter of Zeus”), “Rosy-fingered dawn”, among others. This is because it was written to be recited orally, so they had to have some way to help the bards memorize it. This is one of the methods Homer used.
